Fantasy Premier League’s (FPL) third and final announcement on Friday was a bit more low-key than the first two.
Earlier in the day, FPL revealed that defensive contribution points were coming. Managers are also set to get two lots of chips in 2025/26.
This one was a little less dramatic: two new leagues for those who finished in the top 1% and top 10% of overall managers in 2024/25.
WHO QUALIFIES?
Managers who finished in the top 114,319 places last season have qualified for the Top 1% 24/25 League.
Managers who finished in the top 1,143,193 places last season have qualified for the Top 10% 24/25 League.
CAN YOU QUALIFY FOR NEXT SEASON’S LEAGUES?
FPL say that you can qualify for these same leagues in 2026/27 based on your finish in the upcoming campaign.
PRIZES
It’s not just for ‘fun’ either.
There are prizes for winning each of the leagues, including Puma merchandise, a replica shirt, the EA SPORTS FC game and an FPL bundle. An “exclusive FPL certificate” is also promised…
Let’s see if Saturday brings us any closer to the launch of FPL 2025/26, be it through more rule changes or the long-awaited price reveals.
They are monetizing it. TV rights.
»Has to be an ironic comment.
»We have 3 new chips that prolly can't be used on a dgw. Be happy!
»It would be to replace all red flagged players once a season.
»So, we have to burn all our free transfers before AFCON starts. That's not a problem for me. Casuals will be able to get players who don't play. I can live with that. Casuals will get their players back with 2nd WC. I am more than fine with that xD Planning will still be rewarded and those 5 transfers can obviously be saved to get tired AFCON players back. Casuals will still be losing points and not even realising what has happened.
