The addition of defensive contribution (DC) points from 2025/26 onwards has Fantasy managers planning for the future by revising the past.
We’ve already recalculated the FPL points of every single Premier League player last season! You can find those revised totals, which also factor in the assist and bonus changes, via the linked image below:

Rodri (£6.5m), of course, doesn’t feature high up the list.
A serious knee injury restricted Manchester City’s monster to just 74 league minutes in 2024/25.
But as one of the division’s most heralded defensive midfielders, he’ll surely stand to benefit from DC points as Moises Caicedo (£5.5m) did last season.
The current Ballon d’Or holder racked up eight goals and 10 assists in 2023/24, ranking 12th amongst all Fantasy Premier League (FPL) midfielders on 159 points.
Defensive contributions would have made him even better – but by how much?
For answers, we look back to that 2023/24 campaign – his last full season – and consult our Members Area for answers.

How do midfielders get FPL defensive contribution points?

While defenders need to accumulate 10+ clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles (CBIT) in a match to receive two extra points, it’s slightly different for other positions.
Midfielders and forwards must achieve 12+ clearances, blocks, interceptions, recoveries and tackles (CBIRT).
In all cases, players are capped at two DC points per match.
