We’ve got a new addition to our Members Area today as Fantasy Premier League (FPL) goes live: defensive contribution points.
In case you missed it, there’s a new route to points in FPL 2025/26:
Position | Defensive contributions | Points on offer |
---|---|---|
Defenders | 10 clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles (CBIT) | +2 points |
Midfielders and forwards | 12 clearances, blocks, interceptions, recoveries and tackles (CBIRT) | +2 points |
WHERE TO FIND DEFENSIVE CONTRIBUTION POINTS IN OUR MEMBERS AREA
In the Player Stats section of our website, click on whichever position you’d like:
In the ‘Fantasy Stats’ tab of each of these is a new column marked as ‘DC’.
You guessed it: these are the points that would have been scored from defensive contributions in 2024/25.

These points aren’t included in the total points (Tot, above) column – those remain as they were from 2024/25.
We will, however, be soon putting out an article in which all of last season’s FPL points are recalculated to factor in DCs, the extra assists and any bonus point changes.
In the meantime, this DC column can help steer you in the direction of the players who could benefit the most from tackles, recoveries, blocks, clearances and interceptions in 2025/26.
As with the other stats in our Members Area, they can be filtered by home/away matches, Gameweek range and more.
You can even use the ‘Versus’ feature to see which fixtures these players racked up the most DC points against.
BREAKDOWN OF DEFENSIVE CONTRIBUTIONS ALSO ADDED
And that’s not all.
In the ‘Defending’ tab of the Defenders, Midfielders, Forwards, All Players and Outfield Players stats tables, you’ll see a slight revision of how the data is presented. This is to make it more FPL relevant.
It’s highlighted in red below:

- Tot – Total
- Clr – Clearances
- Blks – Blocks
- Int – Interceptions
- Rec – Recoveries
- Won – Tackles won
Our thanks go to the real brains behind this new feature, Plan FPL (Reece) and TopMarx.
Enjoy!
Why have FPL and FFS switched the main interactive bits we engage with - e.g. comments, players to transfer, etc from right side to left when 88-90% of the world is right handed?
»Current draft has neither and it looks strong. Only downside is chasing captain points every week without Salah, and that's stressful, so might end up with Salah eventually.
»Not a fan of Darwin and Porro has City away in GW2
»Estupiñán is about ready to leave for Milan, and Darwin is also possibly moving on. I would say there are probably better choices than double Sunderland too.
»I could always get him later. Good advice, cheers!
