We’ve got a new addition to our Members Area today as Fantasy Premier League (FPL) goes live: defensive contribution points.
In case you missed it, there’s a new route to points in FPL 2025/26:

| Midfielders and forwards | 12 clearances, blocks, interceptions, recoveries and tackles (CBIRT) | +2 points |
WHERE TO FIND DEFENSIVE CONTRIBUTION POINTS IN OUR MEMBERS AREA
In the Player Stats section of our website, click on whichever position you’d like:
In the ‘Fantasy Stats’ tab of each of these is a new column marked as ‘DC’.
You guessed it: these are the points that would have been scored from defensive contributions in 2024/25.
These points aren’t included in the total points (Tot, above) column – those remain as they were from 2024/25.
We will, however, be soon putting out an article in which all of last season’s FPL points are recalculated to factor in DCs, the extra assists and any bonus point changes.
In the meantime, this DC column can help steer you in the direction of the players who could benefit the most from tackles, recoveries, blocks, clearances and interceptions in 2025/26.
As with the other stats in our Members Area, they can be filtered by home/away matches, Gameweek range and more.
You can even use the ‘Versus’ feature to see which fixtures these players racked up the most DC points against.
BREAKDOWN OF DEFENSIVE CONTRIBUTIONS ALSO ADDED
And that’s not all.
In the ‘Defending’ tab of the Defenders, Midfielders, Forwards, All Players and Outfield Players stats tables, you’ll see a slight revision of how the data is presented. This is to make it more FPL relevant.
It’s highlighted in red below:
- Tot – Total
- Clr – Clearances
- Blks – Blocks
- Int – Interceptions
- Rec – Recoveries
- Won – Tackles won

Apologies if this has been on before on another post and very possible I am being really thick, but struggling to get my team id, ive gone onto pick team and the url doesnt have a number with it like it did last yr. there isnt a gameweek history thing either which is another place i thought it could be. Any help much appreciated.
»Would love both Salah and Haaland but it just breaks the whole squad :( Think this is the best I've come up with so far with just Salah: Sanchez, Gvardiol, AWB, Aina (S)alah, Wirtz, Palmer, Kudus Wood, J. Pedro, Solanke Konsa + fodder bench... Appreciate minimal bench cover but confident most in the starting 11 are nailed(ish) for minutes.
»There appears to be very few worthwhile MF picks at 6.0m or less. Most are on par with last season's 5.0 - 5.5m bracket.

»Oof. FPL has frozen three times for me, trying to make changes to the team, when clicking 'select replacement'. Three times in a row whilst making wholesale changes without being about the actually make the transfers. Be careful out there folks!
